Driver ‘murdered’ in Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, Sep 5: A driver was allegedly murdered by one of his colleagues when they entered some verbal duel in Kishtwar town in the broad daylight today.

A 30-year-old driver identified as Nisar Ahmed son of Shabir Ahmed Baghwan resident of Hullar Kishtwar was today murder by his colleague identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed son of Mehraj-ud-Din Mir also resident of Hullar Kishtwar in a board day light after heated arguments between over the minor issue of favourable timing for departure of the vehicle.

Subsequently police has registered a case FIR number 152 under section 302 RPC against the accused Imtiyaz Ahmed and launched a manhunt to arrest him as he fled from the spot after committing the crime.

As per police case, the accused used sharp edge weapon in executing the murder, adding that the accused hit the victim forcefully with sharp edge weapon in his chest as a result of which the heart of the victim got involved. The police said that even though the victim tried his best to reach nearby District Hospital, but due to excessive bleeding the victim breath his last within 5 to 10 minutes after reaching in Emergency Ward of District Hospital Kishtwar.

As soon as the incident took place, the news of the murder in Kishtwar town spread like a wild fire as a result of which large number of people started rushing towards District Hospital Kishtwar in shock.

Senior Police Officers including SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas, Additional SP Abdul Qayoom, DySP DAR Sanjay Parihar, DySP HQ Touseef Ahmed and SHO Police Station Kishtwar also rushed to hospital and examined the body as well as the scene of crime. The body was later handed over to family members for burial after completion of all legal formalities including autopsy.

After the possible reports of clashes between the two families, Kishtwar police has strengthened the security in Hullar village and has also released the photograph of murderer and seek public cooperation for his immediate arrest.

While talking to KTNS SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas said that the preliminary investigation revealed that both had differences over the timing of departure of vehicles. However, the exact reason behind the murder could only be ascertained after arrest of the accused who escaped from the spot after committing the crime. He said that manhunt has launched to arrest him.
