Vigilance case against former additional DC, 4 others

JAMMU, Mar 30 (JNF): Vigilance Organization Jammu (VOJ) today registered FIR against Nasir Iqbal Parray, former Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Gandarb Singh former Tehsildar Udhampur, Gopal Singh former Naib-Tehsildar Tikri, Ravinder Singh former Girdawar Tikri and Mohammad Saleem Banday former Patwari Mand for dishonestly facilitating the release of compensation amount of Rs 16, 31, 884 in process of National Highway.
According to an FIR, verification conducted into the matter of fabrication of revenue records and release of compensation to the tune of Rs 16, 31, 884 disproportionately amongst the beneficiaries in village Mand has revealed that these revenue officers and officials in league with private beneficiaries wrongfully and dishonestly facilitated release of compensation in process of acquisition of land for National Highway in Khasra numbers 907,908, 938 & 944 of village Mand, Udhampur.
It has been further revealed that in two Khasras the shareholders Sansar Singh, Fateh Singh and Prital Singh were rightly allotted their due shares but the whole compensation amount has been paid in favour of Pritam Singh only.
The commission of offence on the part of public servant Nasir Iqbal Parray then Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Gandarb Singh then Tehsildar Udhampur, Gopal Singh then Naib-Tehsildar Tikri, Ravinder Singh then Girawar Tikri and Mohammad Saleem Banday then Patwari Mand have given undue pecuniary benefit to private persons. VOJ registered FIR under section 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) PC Act 2006 BK and section 467, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC and started investigation.
According to source close to VOJ, no arrest has been made out so far in this case.
