Teenager drowns, sister rescued

SRINAGAR, May 19: A teenage girl drowned in river Jehlum today while her sister was rescued. The mishap occurred when a small boat they were sailing in capsized at Hajin, Bandipora.
Fourteen year-old Jawa and 10 yea rold Julie, daughters of Bashir Ahmad Guroo of Rakhi Hajan, Paribal were sailing in a small boat, which capsized near Hajan bridge Jhelum.
However, the jawan was rescued by some locals while Julie drowned in the river.
Police has launched search to retrieve her body from the river. Marine Commandos, Marcos, were also pressed into service, police said.
