Hurriyat factions to discuss talks offer

SRINAGAR, Mar 18: Both factions of Hurriyat Conference today said they would discuss their response once formal offer of talks is made by the government.
They were responding to state government’s willingness for a dialogue process for all including the separatists. Governor N N vohra during his address to both the houses of legislature today mentioned the proposed talks process.
Huriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the amalgam would discuss the latest political development in its important meeting scheduled to be held tomorrow. When asked about the remarks made by the Governor NN Vohra over initiating dialogue with the Huriyat Conference, Mirwaiz said that the conglomerate will discuss the issue threadbare in his joint meeting wherein general, executive and working body shall discuss it thoroughly.
“I can only tell you that we are meeting tomorrow and we will discuss all the latest political developments taking place in JK, India and Pakistan. We will make our decision public once we reach to any conclusion, till then, we cannot comment any further,” Mirwaiz Umar said.
Huriyat Conference (G) said it will discuss its strategy once the offer of talks is made to it.
Huriyat Conference (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that the amalgam will discuss its forthcoming strategy in its advisory council, once the offer of talks is extended to the conglomerate.
Elaborating further, Akbar said that if the Huriyat (G) is offered to hold dialogue for the resolution of Kashmir, it will discuss the issue thoroughly before reaching out to any conclusion and taking a final call.
The Huriyat (G) spokesman added that the resolution of Kashmir at an earliest is not only in the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir but will also benefit billions of people of south Asia including both India and Pakistan.
