Woman delivers baby outside Vaishno Devi cave shrine

JAMMU, Jun 1: A woman, who had gone to pay obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine, today delivered a baby outside the Bhawan in Reasi district.
“Raj Bala, 35, wife of Survesh Kumar, resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh was standing in a queue at the Gate Number 3 this afternoon outside the Bhawan along with her family and waiting for her turn to pay obeisance at the cave shrine,” police sources here said.
They said that the woman suddenly experienced labour pain following which a team of doctors from the nearby dispensary was rushed to the spot.
“By the time the doctors reached the spot, other women devotees standing in the queue helped her to deliver the baby,” they said adding that it was a male baby.
The mother and baby were shifted to the health centre and were discharged in the evening.
“The mother and the child are fit and healthy,” doctors said.
The woman however, in her statement said that she had two daughters and wanted to have a boy. “The Goddess has answered my prayers,” she said.
