MUMBAI, Apr 17: The Justice Mukul Mudgal IPL probe committee has the audio recordings of all "controversial" people, confirms Nilay Dutta, one of the three panel members.
Speaking exclusively over his mobile, he said, "we are in the possession of audio recordings of all "controversial" people and those named in the sealed envelope have given audio recordings of their statements".
"The audio recordings of Chennai police is not done because they gave written statements. When few police officials have given written statements, it was not necessary to have their audio recordings", he insisted.
"IPS officer G. Sampath Kumar was one among few others whose statements have no audio recordings", he confirmed.
"I don't remember the names of others whose audio recordings were not done".
Narayanswamy Srinivasan who has been effectively suspended by the Supreme Court of India as the Board president, the IPL COO Sundar Raman and Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's audio recordings are with the Mudgal probe commission.
"Few people did request to the commission that their deposition be not recorded and hence it was left to the Mudgal men to grant their wishes", another source said exclusively from Delhi.
"We have not yet received the court order. Once we get the copy of it, will decide the appointment of amicus curae, whose job will be to deal with us and share the recordings of the perople who deposed before us", Mukul Mudgal, speaking from Delhi, said exclusively again.
"Mr. P.P.Rao, Fali Nariman, Harish Salve, Soli Sorabji are the few names who have acted as amicus curae. Salve is unlikely to be considered as he is representing one of the parties to this case", Vidushpat Singhania, the lawyer who assisted Mudgal committee in the assignment informs.
