JAMMU, Mar 16: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia today staged a walkout in protest against, what he said, “government’s apathy towards the plight of residents of 100 villages along Chobu Nallah cut off from Udhampur district after the linking road caved in for quite some time.”
Mankotia said that even the minister had an aerial survey but still nothing was done to construct/repair the road as a result 100 villages were cut off and the inhabitants were suffering for want of electricity, water and connectivity.
Congress MLA Krishan Chander too supported his point and sought Rs 5 lakh for each affected family.
However making his point, agitated Mankotia walked out of the House ignoring the pleas of the Speaker Mubarak Gul that he should stage a walk out after listening to the minister’s reply.
