5 new HC judges to be sworn-in today

JAMMU, Mar 7: Ali Mohd Magrey, Dhiraj Singh Thakur, Tashi Rabstan, Bansi Lal Bhat and Janak Raj Kotwal of J&K will take oath as new judges of J&K High Court tomorrow at 5.00 PM in the High Court complex.
The oath will be administered by Chief Justice of J&K High Court Justice M M Kumar at 5.00 PM in the High Court complex Jammu.
The warrants of elevation of Ali Mohd Magrey, Dhiraj Singh Thakur as permanent judges of the High Court and Tashi Rabstan, Bansi Lal Bhat and Janak Raj Kotwal as Additional Judge of the High Court has been issued by the President of India which has been received here today.
With the elevation Ali Mohd Magrey, Dhiraj Singh Thakur, Tashi Rabstan, Bansi Lal Bhat and Janak Raj Kotwal as judge of the High Court, the strength of judges of the High Court will be 12 including Chief Justice. Out of these 12 judges, 9 are permanent judges including Chief Justice whereas three are additional judges.
The sanctioned strength of the state High Court is 14 and two posts are still vacant.
