Feroz inaugurates 15 KW solar power plant at Chattergam

BUDGAM, Feb 7: Minister of State for Science & Technology, Information Technology, School Education, Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Feroz Khan has reiterated the resolve of the Government to adopt measures for replacement of solar energy to ensure round the clock power supply in healthcare institutions and Primary Health Centres.
The Minister was addressing an officers meeting at Budgam after inaugurating the 15 KW Solar Power Plan installed by J&K Energy Development Agency at a cost of Rs. 35 lakh in the Sub District Hospital, Chattergam here today.
The Minister enjoined upon the concerned Block Medical Officer to avail the facility for the betterment of patients and ensure the safe custody of the solar plant.
The Minister was informed that execution of solar power plant was taken up in 2011-12 and commissioned in December 2012 with the commissioning of the said power plant, uninterrupted power supply shall be made available in the Sub District Hospital round the clock.
The Minister was informed this shall also ensure smooth functioning of X-Ray plant, operation theatre, besides other instruments for better healthcare facilities of the people in the area.
