Class 12th result declared: Girls outshine boys

SRINAGAR, Jan 23: Girls have outshined boys in the higher secondary part two (12th class) examination.
According to the result declared today, 60 percent girls and 58 percent boys have passed the examination. Most positions have also been bagged by the girls.
In the faculty of arts three girls and two boys have obtained first position with a percentage of 98 percent (490 marks out of 500). They are Amara Wani of Iqbal Memorial girls higher secondary school Bemina, Bisma Zahoor of St. Joseph’s Higher secondary School Baramulla, Kamram Ahmad Quraishi of New Dream Land Higher Secondary School Ganderbal, Mehran Ali Banka of Tyndale Biscoe school, and Nuha Bilal of Presentation Convent Higher Secondary school.
The second position in faculty of science has been bagged by three girls and a boy by securing 97.8 percent (489 marks out of 500). They are Duha Qari, Fateema Muzaffar, Misbah Qayoom, and Mohammad Shoiab Mir.
The third position has been shared by six girls and two boys with 97.6 percent (488 marks out 500). They are Aksa Urooj, Azra Hamid, Bismah Latif, Mohammad Abrar Khan, Qudsiya Bashir, Raima Tariq, Seerat Tajamul, and Waseem Ahmad Sheikh.
In faculty of commerce all the first 10 positions have gone to girls. Rahila Hafiz of government higher secondary school Delina has obtained the first position with 96.6 percent ( 483 out of 500 marks). The second position has been shared by Shigraf Gani, and Tyibah Shabir. Azra Gul has obtained third position.
In faculty of arts also, girls have outshined the boys. Sana Shafiq of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh has topped and bagged the first position with 97.8 percent (489 out of 500 marks). Ayman Showkat and Tanzeela Manan have obtained the second position. The third position has gone to Zehra Naqash.
Asma Shakeel has got first position in faculty of home sciences by securing 98 percent marks (490 out of 500). Nuzhat Parveen has bagged second position. The third position has been shared by Sehrish Mohammad, Surayya Kousar, and Yusra Nisar.
55268 students had appeared in the examination out of which 30814 passed. Among the passing students, 6565 students have scored distinctions, 12246 are first division holders, 9647 are second division holders and 2356 fall in third division category.
