SRINAGAR, Apr 16: Senior National Conference (NC) leader Dr Mustafa Kamal today said his party could kick out Congress any time from coalition government.
He said it was the Congress led government in New Delhi which through deceit and treachery eroded autonomy and enslaved the people of Kashmir.
"I addressed party workers, scholars, and intellectuals in Rajouri and there I made it clear that New Delhi eroded our autonomy by deceit and treachery. We were autonomous and the Congress led government of India enslaved us by resorting to different means of treachery," Kamal told CNS.
He said National Conference always advocated and practiced peaceful political struggle espousing the cause of the people, be it against the oppressive regime before 1947 or the forces of treachery and deceit after 1947
Earlier yesterday in Thannamandi, Kamal had stated that National Conference would form government on its own.
Firing fresh salvo on its coalition partner Congress he had said that Congress ministers’ infighting was earning bad name for the coalition. He had also termed Congress Pradesh President Saif-ud-Din Soz’s statement regarding Congress forming next government as unfortunate.
Kamal said that there was no reality in the claim of Soz wherein he claimed that Congress would form government on its own. “I wonder how he is issuing such statements,” Kamal had said adding “instead the position of NC is strong and it will form government on its own.”
Terming infighting in Congress camp as unfortunate, Kamal said that two Congress minister had exposed each other by unearthing PHE and Health department scams. He said that National Conference leader or minister was not involved in any scam but coalition partner Congress ministers were exposing each other and thus earning bad name for the coalition.
Regarding the position of National Conference, Kamal had said that his party was strong enough to contest elections without pre-poll or post-poll alliance. “We are ready to contest on all seats of J&K Assembly and we are going to announce the candidates from all seats in June this year for which exercise is going on and the party president has to take a final decision,” he said adding that when the party was strong to form government on its own the question of post poll alliance did not arise.
