Yasin arrested, released on bail

SRINAGAR, Dec 29: JKLF chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik, was today arrested and later released on bail in a newly framed case against him.
Reports said the case is pertains to an incident after the killing of prominent lawyers and human rights activist Jalil Ahmad Andrabi in 1995. Yasin was accused of disrupting peace. Court of first munsiff issued warrant against JKLF chairman in the case. He was detained for some hours as he appeared in the court today and then set free.
A JKLF spokesman in a statement said the case is related with the killing of Advocate Jalil Indrabi in 1995. “Yasin sahib was summoned by the court, arrested and then released on a bail bond of Rs 20,000,” he said.
JKLF while condemning this new judicial torture policy of the rulers has said that this policy will yield nothing but failure and frustration. “After the abduction of Shaheed advocate Jalil Ahmad Andrabi the people of Kashmir continuously protested against his abduction by Rashtrya Rifles. His body was recovered from river Jhelum. After the recovery of the body we tried to take it to his home for burial but the procession was attacked by police and other forces and even the vehicle, Yasin sahib was travelling in was fired upon by the forces and he had a narrow escape,” added the spokesman..
The spokesman said immense pressure from the world bodies compelled the rulers and they declared to bring the killers of Andrabi to book. “A case was filed and honorable court found Indian army and its major Avtar Singh of being guilty of murder of Jalil Andrabi. Till date nobody has been arrested or sent to jail for that brutal act but instead of providing justice a new case has been framed against Yasin sahib in this regard,” he added.
