PDD collects Rs 685 Cr from Jammu, Rs 465 Cr from Kashmir

JAMMU, Apr 11(Agencies): As against the total power purchase bill of over Rs 4000 Cr, the Power Development Department could recover only Rs 1150 Cr till January 2013 end this year leaving behind a shortfall of over Rs 2800 Cr.
According to official sources in the Power Development Department, total revenue of Rs 685.67 Cr was realized from Jammu province till January end while Kashmir region accounted for Rs 465.04 Cr, almost Rs 220 Cr less than Jammu province.
Official sources said the PDD had set a target of collecting Rs 1800 Cr and in the last one month doubled up its efforts to realize its fixed targets. At present the department is working out the details of total revenue realized, official sources said.
Sharing constituency wise details of revenue realised during the current year official sources said maximum revenue of over Rs 100 Cr was realized from Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency in Jammu. In Kashmir the highest revenue was recovered from Sonawar assembly constituency where a total sum of Rs 64.89 Cr was realised in the area while Amira Kadal accounted for Rs 47.39 Cr during the same period.
Sources said, Rs 36.72 Cr were recovered from Pampore, Rs 26.98 Cr were realised in Batamaloo and Rs 19.78 Cr were recovered from Hazratbal, Rs 10.38 Cr from Ganderbal assembly constituency during the same period.
The minimum amount of Rs 25.44 lakh was raised from Gurez, Rs 37.14 lakh from Nubra, Rs 1.3 Cr from Beerwah, Rs 5.63 Cr from Idgah, Rs 7.55 Cr from Habba Kadal, Rs 5.03 Cr from Pahalgam, Rs 8.05 Cr from Bijbehara, Rs 3.81 Cr from Wachi, Rs 10.88 Cr from Chadoora, Rs 21.89 Cr from Budgam, Rs 3.35 Cr from Chrar-e-Sharief Assembly constituency in Kashmir.
In Jammu province Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency alone accounted for Rs 100.66 Cr of power revenue followed by Rs 64.02 Cr from Jammu West, Rs 32.11 Cr from Jammu East, Rs 23.87 Cr from Nagrota, Rs 15.79 Cr from Akhnoor, Rs 7.73 Cr from Kishtwar, Rs 3.97 Cr from Bhaderwah, Rs 26.99 Cr from Reasi, Rs 9.77 Cr from Kathua, Rs 14.41 Cr from Rajouri, Rs 7.84 Cr from Poonch, Rs 4.50 Cr from Doda, Rs 6.58 Cr from Ramban, Rs 52.71 Cr from Udhampur assembly constituency.
