Ajatshatru takes stock of renovation of Khir Bhawani Temple

SRINAGAR, Oct 10: As a part of the programme of inspecting various religious and spiritual sites of the state MLC Ajatshatru Singh today paid obeisance at Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple Tulmulla and took stock of the various developmental and renovation works of the temple.
On the occasion he was informed that the work on STP project is in progress while beatification of the temple complex is under way. He was informed that the thousands of pilgrims and tourists from across the country visit various shrines of the Valley as they have been provided all required facilities by the temple management.
He said that we are proud of our centuries old cultural heritage and harmony and brotherhood. Singh was accompanied with President J&K Dharamarth Trust R. S. Jamwal and other Trustees. He visited Royal Samadhi and Khir Bhawani and took stock of the pace of ongoing developmental works there. Singh was accompanied by MLC, Vijay Bakya.
On the occasion, the MLC said that a project to develop the surrounding areas of Royal Samadhies as a rich Heritage Park has been taken up with State Government. He said there is a proposal to construct a Rest House and Sarai also to accommodate the tourists and other visitors also. He said that project cost would be more than six crore rupees.
The MLC said that the project has been sent to State Government for taking the matter with Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. He said that the efforts are on to get renovated and repaired other Temples of the Valley who are presently in a dilapidated condition and in this connection, in first phase,Rs.10 crore have been spent on the renovation of Mata Keer Bhawani temple, Srinagar. He said in second phase, the renovation and repair work of the Gupt Ganga, Ishbar Temple Nishat would be taken up.
