Grenade goes off at Tral encounter site
3 injured in blast

SRINAGAR, July 2: At least three persons were injured two of them critically when a grenade went off at yesterday’s encounter site in Tral area of south Kashmir.

Three militants and a policeman were killed while three security force personal were injured in a 12 hour long gun fight between the two in Madoora village of the area. Besides a residential house where the militants were holed up was raised to ground after being blasted by the forces.

Reports said that the grenade which had not exploded during the encounter went off today when the villagers were removing the debris from the encounter site.

“Three persons were injured in the explosion,” reports said.

The injured were immediately shifted to sub-district hospital Tral where from two of them who had received critical injuries were shifted to Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura.

The injured were identified as Mohammad Shafi Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat of Madura, Khursheed Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rehman Bhat of Madura and Wasif Shakeel son of Shakeel Ahmad Malik of Srinagar.
