Alternatives good in elections

Dear Editor,
What the recent assembly elections in 5 states have revealed is that it is not a Modi wave, nor even a BJP wave but that people are anti-Congress. The general sentiment of the people is that they want to vote against Congress, it does not matter who their vote goes to but it should not go to Congress. Infact the same scenario was in Bengal when people were anti- CPM and thus TMC was the automatic choice. And that is why BJP has been the choice in three states. Then, why not Delhi? The Aam Admi Party is a fresh alternative and its promise of fighting corruption has so far imbued hope. Alternative choices are good and healthy in a democracy and that is why the AAP phenomenon is for the good, even if the party ultimately fails to deliver.
