PDP seeks support of women to change corrupt system in state

JAMMU, Nov 26: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha segment Yash Pal Sharma today sought support of the women to change the prevailing inefficient and corrupt system in the State. He said that support of very section of the society was must to set up a new system of justice and equality.
Addressing a function organised by Mahila wing of PDP, Sharma said that PDP was committed to establish a transparent and accountable system to provide all comforts to people.
While mentioning towards complete failure of the present dispensation to provide basic amenities to the people, he reiterated that PDP wants to establish a system where every citizen would get equal opportunities of upliftment and development. He regretted that people of the State was confronting to get basic amenities like drinking water and power.
Pointing towards problems of the educated unemployed youth of the State, he strongly demanded that recruitment process should be streamlined and there should be direct recruitment on government jobs. “There is no need of appointing youth on contractual basis against over one lakh vacant posts in various government departments” he said and demanded that all the contractual employees should be regularized.
He said that every section of the society was bearing brunt of the wrong policies of the coalition regime but women were the worst victims due to unprecedented hike in the prices of essential commodities.
Speaking on the occasion, PDP Mahila wing president Shanti Devi, pointed towards rampant corruption in the government and said that present headed by Omar Abdullah has crossed all limits of corruption. “While as in other parts of the country a debate is going on how to eradicate the menace of corruption but in Jammu and Kashmir government itself brazenly taking steps to weaken the anti-graft bodies”. She said.
Susheela Jamwal, Geeta Thakur, Arsha Devi, Veena Sangra, Anita Devi, Sandiya Mehta, Rekha Kumari, Indu Anand, Anju Bhan, Sabita Pathanai, Shano Devi, Veena Chopra, Kamlesh Kumari and others also spoke on the occasion.
