Condemning the assault on Sanullah, Mirwaiz demanded impartial probe into the incident and stern punishment for the guilty. He said both the countries should release the political prisoners lodged in their jails on basic humanitarian grounds.

Syed Ali Geelani, chairman Hurriyat (G), who is under continuous detention, was not allowed to offer Friday prayers and to participate in funeral prayers in absentia of Pakistani prisoner.

Spokesman of Hurriyat (G), Ayaz Akbar, in a statement said Geelani is virtually serving the detention but till date the administration has failed to serve any order or direction in this regard. They are not allowing the leader to perform his religious and social duties added, Ayaz Akbar.
