Family of Rajouri’s murdered minor demand justice on fast track

SRINAGAR, Nov 14: The family of an eight-year-old-boy Salik Mansoor, who was abducted and then brutally murdered in Rajouri last month, has demanded setting up of a fast track court to deliver justice in the matter.
Talking to Kashmir Times, Qazi Mansoor father of the deceased child demanded justice o fast track basis. “My son’s killing is an irreparable loss for me and my family. Now I don’t want that pain to get aggravated by a prolonged trial of the accused. I appeal both the government as well as the judiciary to set up a special court that will try decide the matter on fast track basis,” father of the deceased child demanded.
Qazi Mansoor a Pathwari by profession is a resident of Shahdara Sharief presently residing at Danshabad Colony in Kheora area of Rajouri town.
He said that the family reposes trust in judiciary but is not ready to bear the pain and agony while going through a prolonged course of justice delivery. “We want the guilty should be punished but under fast track basis. A court should be set up for this purpose is our earnest appeal,” Mansoor told Kashmir Times.
Salik’s body was found in a plastic bag in an under construction house in Bela Colony of Rajouri town on October 8. The deceased minor had gone missing while returning from his school on October 7.
After massive protest demonstration, the administration had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police that arrested a couple, who had allegedly kidnapped and brutally killed the Class 2nd student Salik.
The accused Imtiyaz Ahmed son of Angraiz Ahmed resident of Majoor Thanamandi was working as mason in Salik’s home when, according to police he planned kidnapping with the assistance of his wife Shreen Akhter. The couple is in the custody of police, which is set to file charge sheet before the designated court in a few days.
Addressing a press conference, Dinesh Rana, DIG Rajouri-Poonch range, had on October 12, said that the kidnapping was planned by the couple to extort Rs 15 lakh from the victim’s father.
“The couple took one month to execute the plan,” Rana had told media persons. “As police launched a massive hunt to recover the kidnapped child, the couple in panic murdered the eight year old boy,” the police had informed the media persons.
