JYF opposes extension, re-engaged to retired officials

JAMMU, Nov 10: Jammu Youth Forum has threatened to go on in indefinite protest if state government would continue with extension to retired officers.
Addressing media persons here today, JYF State President Narinder Singh lashed out at the state administration for giving extension to most of the retired officers thereby blocking career avenues to younger lot. Singh said that more that nearly 149 officials and re-engaged many of them as advisors, consultants, PROs and Officers on Special Duty with the Ministers in last four years. He said “it’s a matter of great injustices that younger lots of youth have been waiting for carrier opportunities but the retired lot is not ready to leave the job and even the state administration in helping them”.
He further said that what was the obligation of the Government to re-employ these officials and give extension to many when Government itself has mentioned that over 6 lakh educated youth were unemployed. Why Government was giving extension or re-employing 68 and even 72 year old officials.
He alleged that Government was offer ` 50,000 to ` 80,000 too many re-employed people, by miserly many other highly qualified unemployed youth of the opportunity. He alleged it was sheer favoritism and has apparently been done to re-engage many people with ministers who are capable of doing their ‘desired’ job for them.
He said only influential people are getting benefits of the Extension, re-engaged in the different sector. However, he threatened to intensify protest in case all the retired officers were not relieved within a short period. Singh appealed to the Chief-Minister to stop the process of extension as early as possible and also show the doors to retired officers.
Those who were present includes, Suram Singh, Ankit Raina, Parmjeet Singh and Amit Sharma.
