Dr HS Rissam passes away

JAMMU, Oct 17: Renowned Cardiologist, Director Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi Padamshree Dr (Prof.) Harbajan Singh Risam, passed away today at 9:30 AM at Max Hospital New Delhi.
He was 60.
He was hospitalised in Max Superspeciality Hospital, New Delhi few day back following a complaint of infection yet he could not recovered and breathed his last today.
Son of the soil Dr Rissam, who was also member Board of Governors, Medical Council of India, is survived by his mother Ranjeet Kour, wife Dr Balbir Kour Rissam, son Harbir Singh Rissam and daughter Harmeet Kour.
Dr. Rissam got his basic education from Central Basic School Jammu, Graduated from GGM Science College, Jammu. He did his MBBS with gold medal from Amritsar Medical College and Specialization in cardiology from PGI Chandigarh.
He served in various capacities in different Medical Institutes. He served in SK Institute of Medical Sciences Soura, Srinagar, served in Escorts Hospital New Delhi as Director, Batra Hospital New Delhi as Prof and was presently serving in Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi.
His death has been widely condoled in social, political and medical circles of the state and outside.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah have also condoled the demise of Dr. Harbajan Singh Risam and described his death a great loss to country.
His cremation take place at Shastri Nagar Cremation Ground Jammu on Oct 18 at 12:00 noon.
