SPO, 7VDC members injured in Kishtwar mishap

KISHTWAR/REASI, Oct 17: A Special Police Officer (SPO) and 7 Village Defence Committee (VDC) members of VDC Khori Saroor were injured when an Eco van they were travelling in met with an accident near Hasti in Kishtwar.
The ill-fated van bearing registration number JK06-4193 in which they were returning from Kishtwar to their native village met with an accident near Hasti about 15 kilometers away from Kishtwar resulting injuries to eight persons.
The injured have been identified as Bansi Lal SPO, Swami Raj, Hari Lal, Romesh Nath, Vijay Nath, Kehari Nath and Kahan Nath all VDC members of VDC Khori Saroor.
All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for treatment and the condition of all injured are stable.
Meanwhile, reports from Reasi said that one person critically injured in an accident at Mahore was today airlifted to Government Medical College Jammu. Identified as Mohammad Muqeem, 35, son of Ghulam Mohd of Dubri from Mahore, he received serious head injury, thoracic trauma and left renal injury after an accidental fall.
Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal, immediately requisitioned an Airforce helicopter from Jammu which airlifted the patient from Mahore to Jammu. The condition of the patient remained critical.
