SRINAGAR, Oct 7: Minister for agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir whose name surfaced in an army report for allegedly receiving Rs 1. 19 Crores to topple Omar Abdullah government in 2010 today refuted the allegations.
Before the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s speech, Mir said that the allegations levelled against him are baseless and he was open for any inquiry. “I assure this House that I have not done anything for which this House will has to hang its head in shame. The army has played key role in tackling militancy and it is this role of the army that we are in the House doing business,” Mir said.
The accused minister said that by indulging in blame game, members of the House were belittling the importance of the House and other democratic institutions. “When we say we rigged the elections or level any allegations for our electoral interest, we belittle the credibility of the institutions,” he added.
