Never said no to the cricketing assignments: Mudgal
MUMBAI, Oct 7: Mukul Mudgal has never said no to any assignment related to the game of cricket and hence it is assumed he would surely accept the BCCI's request, if offered to head the IPL probe on spot-fixing.

Speaking exclusively over his mobile, Mukul Mudgal, the retired chief justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court said, "I have never denied any such work and would accept it, if offered. It is only the suggestion given by the Supreme Court of India on Monday. Let the proceedings take place on Tuesday and let us see how it moves".

"It is premature to say anything. I don't know whether the BCCI would want me to proceed with it...".

It is to be seen now whether the BCCI is "forced" to form the new panel as suggested by the SC of India or only the names of panel are recommended.

As of now, the former High Court judge has been "recommended" to head the panel with other two members as senior advocate and additional solicitor general N Nageshwar Rao and Assam Cricket Association member Nilay Dutta.

"So far I have discharged two cricketing assignments".

"One, I was directed by the Supreme Court of India to witness the tender process floated by the Indian cricket board. Two, I was asked by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to be the external advisor to Lord Woolf report", he signed off.
