All 3 accused in Nowshera gang rape arrested

RAJOURI, Mar 23: All three accused allegedly involved in gang rape in Nowshera tehsil on March, 21 were arrested by the police today.

The accused were identified as Sourab Sharma, son of Ashok Sharm, Monu Chib son of Gurdas Singh and Manga Ram son of Mool Raj all residents of Gakhrot in Nowshera tehsil. They were booked by the police under sections 363 and 376 RPC.

All the accused were known to girl and under well planned strategy went to her village Beri Pattan about 4 kilometers from their village and were hiding in the fields in the wee hours. At about 4 AM when the victim, a student of 11th class, was on her way to the fields to attend to nature's call she was dragged to nearby forest, where she was gang raped by the accused.

After the crime, they fled the crime spot after strangulating her and took her as dead. When the girl did not return, her family members got suspicious and started search for her.

The victim was found in unconscious condition and was immediately shifted to hospital and police was also informed. After gaining consciousness girl narrated the whole episode to police ad family members and also identified the accused.

A case under section 363 and 376 RPC was registered against the accused after the medical checkup of the victim. Since March 21, police was chasing the accused and on intelligence inputs Inspector Yash Pal Sambyal SHO Nowshera arrested Monu Chib and Manga Ram from Jammu bus stand when they were waiting to board a Srinagar bound bus at about 2 AM today while Sourab was arrested from Sunderbani in the evening, today.
