Conference on Contemporary issues in Business, Management, Finance begins

SRINAGAR Sep 21 : With an aim to provide a platform to the academia, researchers, practitioners, experts from multi-disciplinary interests for scholarly discussion and meaningful discourse on the various issues our corporate world is fraught with , a 3-Day National Conference on the “Contemporary Issues in Business, Management and Finance organised by Department of Business and Financial studies University Of Kashmir began here today.
Addressing academia, researchers and practitioners at the inaugural event held at Ghandi Bhawan auditorium Vice chancellor Kashmir university Prof Talat Ahmad who presided the inaugural session said the theme of the conference is significant and current in view of the fact that every time new realities are unfolding, new business and economic issues are emerging and new insights can be gained and utilized to address, conceptualize and theorize these new realities.
Prof Talat said that there are interesting challenges for the academia and the practitioners alike to take on and to make valuable contributions in a bid to make our organizations highly dynamic and competitive. VC hoped that 3-Day National Conference would go a long way in broadening the horizons of knowledge on these issues & the participants would get benefitted out of the deliberations & discussions in the conference.
Earlier Director Of the three day conference and Head of the Bussiness and finanicial studies KU Prof Nazir Ahmad Nazir while speaking on the objectives of the conference said that said the national conference is being held to understand and deliberate upon the multifarious and ever changing business scenario prevailing in India, to identify the emerging areas thereof and to explore the opportunities & challenges; and integrate both conceptual and empirical research that shall link knowledge to different Industry contexts.
The Chief Guest Sudhanshu Panday ,Principal Secretary, Power Development ,Govt. of J&K said in his inaugural address said that business needs an attitude ,perseverance and commitment to be successful. Saying that man is at the heart of management Panday said that it is essentially human resource which is critical in handling finances and management.
Panday added that universities including Kashmir university have a bigger role and they need to introduce courses which are relevant to the jobs available in the market saying that market is dynamic Panday said that and unless we learn to develop linkages with the market changes would not take place.
