Cook runs primary school in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Oct 2: A government primary school located at a distance of just 7 kms from Rajouri is being run by a cook meant for preparing mid-day meal in the school.
For 35 students studying in the school, one teacher has been engaged under Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT). The teacher engaged is Mohammed Ashraf, son of Said Mohammed.
Cook Mehnaz Akhter is wife of ReT teacher. As per the sources, Mehnaz was engaged by her ReT teacher husband to prepare mid day meal and also teach the students.
Interestingly, no one from the Education department has ever bothered to visit the area and take any action.
When this KT scribe visited the area and talked to cook Mehnaz Akhter, she told that her husband would visit the school just once or twice in a week and rest of the days she would teach the students for one or two hours before announcing the day’s break for the students.
Director School Education Sourabh Bhagat, when contacted, stated that CEO Rajouri would be issued instructions to personally visit the school and submit a report after which strict legal action would be taken against the accused teacher.
