SCSPLA extends support to Anna Hazare
JAMMU, Jul 31: Social Civil Society for Peace and Legal Awareness (SCSPLA) today extended its full support to stir launched by Anna Hazare who began his indefinite fast on Sunday at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on his demand for the Lokpal Bill. SCSPLA patron Kundan Lal Dutta stated this while addressing an emergency meeting at Narwal Pain (Satwari).

In a statement issued here, Dutta welcomed the decision of social activist Anna Hazare who began his indefinite hunger strike against corruption till the government bowed to his demand for a stringent Jan Lokpal Bill. He further said, “The government can say anything it wants to, but the fact is that somebody has been keeping up with this fight against corruption.”

Meanwhile, its president Khem Raj Bali expressed grief over the death of 16 Amarnath pilgrims in a road accident at Samba and appealed to the state government to investigate the cause of frequent road accidents in the State. The leaders also demanded compensation to the grieved families immediately.

Those who were present on the occasion included vice-president Dev Raj Bali, coordinator Mohammad Iqbal, Ashwani Kumar Vaid, Lekh Raj Khajuria, Cheni, Shyam Chibber, Dev Raj, Girdhari Lal, Surinder Singh and Sujan Singh.

NEW DELHI, July 31 (Agencies):The country faced a major power crisis for the second consecutive day today as three grids serving Northern, Eastern and North-Eastern regions failed this afternoon, leading to 200 coal miners getting trapped in West Bengal and throwing normal life out of gear in 22 states.
