2 injured in Jammu scrap shop blast

Jammu, July 31 (Agencies): Two scrap dealers were today injured seriously in a blast when as shell exploded at their shop in Jammu, police said.
An old shell -- possibly brought as scrap from army camps -- exploded at the scrap dealer's shop in Muthi area when it was being dismantled this morning, they said.
The injured, identified as 25-year-old Ranjeet and 30-year-old Manjeet, were admitted to a government hospital. The duo have been rushed and admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital. Doctors said the left arm of Ranjit Singh, 25, was blown off in the explosion while his brother Manjit Singh, 38, also received serious injuries.
A police official said the exact cause of the explosion was being ascertained but "it appeared that the blast occurred when the two were breaking an old shell". Police said it appeared that the blast occurred while the two brothers were breaking an old shell.
