Speaker pays tributes to Sheikh Abdullah

SRINAGAR, Aug 8: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul has paid rich tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his death anniversary being observed on 8th September of every year.
The Speaker said that Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, all along his life, worked for peace, welfare and prosperity of the state. He said the role played by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah for the dignity of the people, besides strengthening and maintaining secular character of the State would be remembered for ever. The slogan of late leader Hindu, Muslim, Sikh Itihad has kept the people of the State united.
Gul said that the historical and visionary decision of land to tiller not only transformed the life of destitute farmers of the State but also empowered them. He said education to all was a cherished dream of the late leader for which he made tireless efforts during his political career.
