CISF jawan killed, 7 injured in Kishtwar road mishap

KISHTWAR, Sep 7: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan was killed while seven others, posted for security of 390 MW Dul-Hasti Power Project, were injured on Saturday when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Dool area of the district.
A vehicle of CISF bearing registration number JK06-0401 was on its way to Kishtwar from Dool area when its driver lost control over it and it rolled down into the deep gorge near Dool, 10 kilometer from District Head Quarter Kishtwar at around 6 AM today, police said.
Eight jawans who were travelling in the vehicle were injured, police said, adding that one of the paramilitary personnel was declared brought dead by the doctors.
The deceased has been identified as Jaswant Rai son of Kartar Dasof Ludhiana Punjab.
The CISF personals were returning after attending night duty at Dam site of the project when the mishap took place. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar from where all of them were shifted Military Hospital Udhampur and Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu respectively for advance treatment.
The injured were identified as Udhay Singh son of Pyare Lal resident of Agra UP, T K Singh son of T H Chinku resident of Assam, Chuna Ram son of B R Chowdhary resident of Rajasthan, Raghunath Singh son of Rattan Singh resident of Rajasthan, Varinder Singh son of Garsi Ram resident of Mahindergarh Haryana, P Vishal Sita Ram son of Sita Ram resident of Maharashtra and Guru Darshan Singh son of Babu Singh resident of Punjab.
Condition of some of injured was said to be critical.
