Successive NC regimes responsible for backwardness of hilly regions: Yash Paul

KALAKOTE, Sept 4: Blaming successive National Conference (NC) regimes for under-development and backwardness of twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri,Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that except exploiting sentiments of the masses NC has done nothing to improve conditions of the people living in this backward and neglected belt.
Inaugurating party office at Kalakote, PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma, leaders regretted that the region of Poonch and Rajouri remained neglected for decades together because successive NC regimes were never interested to develop this hilly belt. He said that NC leadership has exploited sentiments of the people of this region just for getting votes but on development front this belt remained neglected. MLA Darhal Zulfikar and Muzaffar Bazi were also present in the function.,
While highlighting discriminatory policies being adopted by the present NC regime, PDP leader said that this region has been neglected in all spheres of life be it recruitment or development. He exhorted the people to give a befitting reply to the NC in the coming elections.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Darhal Choudhary Zulfikar reminded the people it was only during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that some steps were taken for the socio-economic growth of the people of this region.
While highlighting revolutionary steps taken by the government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for the development of this belt, he said that a comprehensive programme was formulated for the overall growth of this region. He availed this opportunity to mention that PDP led regime has also restored peace in this region
“Through his conviction and sincerity Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has facilitated historic peace and confidence building initiatives which positively transformed the political discourse not only within the State, but throughout the sub-continent”, he observed.
District president of PDP Rajouri Abdul Qayoom Dar and other senior leaders also addressed the gathering and sought support of the people for PDP candidate.
