Secy Power inspects 66 KV line from Bombguard to GH road, ongoing works at Leh

Leh, Oct 29: Administrative Secretary, Power & RE, Department, Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar, today visited the 66 KV Transmission line tower works under construction which was struck due to ROW issued since 2011 under XIth Plan RE works. He informed that these works are expected to be completed by November 2021 and will enable the charging of Lungmar and GH substations and will supply reliable power to the Army area and nearby civil lines. It would help in reducing the load on feeders of the city in winters.
Secretary Power instructed the concerned executing agency to expedite the pace of work and finish the work within the given time frame.
Further, he informed that the construction of new 66/11 kV, 6.3 MVA capacity substation at Lalung, Leh started along with Distribution augmentation works in Leh town under PMDP in August 2018.
Also, informed that the physical work has started from April 2019 and despite the short working season, COVID-19 pandemic, and many hurdles, the substation is expected to be completed by December 21. He informed that this will provide quality power to nearby areas of Leh town and decrease the overloading of the existing 20 MVA substation of Leh town. The station will also add redundancy to the power system in Leh.
Secretary, Ravinder also inspected the progress of new substation construction under PMDP Urban scheme along with the Superintending Engineer PDD, Executive Engineer, Electric Distribution Division Leh), Executive Engineer Sub-Transmission Division Leh and Executive Engineer Project, Division, PDD and Project Implementation Agency (PIA) RECPDCL site representatives. Also, the progress of six under-construction of 66 KV Tower lines from Bombgarh to GH by NHPC was reviewed with the NHPC representative at the site.
