Protection of dignity, interests of J&K people high on party agenda: NC

SRINAGAR, Oct 29: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial Vice President, Kashmir and In Charge Constituency Sonwar Ahsan Pardesi on Friday stated that NC is the only party that can restore dignity as well as protect the identity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said this while addressing a meeting a party workers and local unit functionaries at Fakir Gujri in Block Harwan of the central Kashmir's Sonwar constituency.
While interacting with the workers, he said that holding the party flag high is a daunting task and that NC’s history is rife with such numerous men who held the party flag high facing many challenges. He said that it was due to the efforts of numerous NC workers that the struggle which was launched in 1931 culminated in the restoration of democracy in J&K.
He further stated, “People have lately come to know that no party can ever be trusted with the task of safe guarding JK's identity and diversity, other than NC," he said.
Referring to soaring prices of essentials and the fuel, Ahsan said, "Prices are touching skies, nothing is being done, as a result of which poor people stand pushed to the wall," he sighed.
He said the hike in fuel prices has escalated rates of all the essentials and the brunt is being borne by the poor.
Ahsan further said that the party's objective had never been power but dignity and development of the people. “Realisation had dawned on the people that there was no alternative to NC and the party alone could represent the social, political and economic aspirations and multifarious problems effectively and single-mindedly of the people of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
