NEW DELHI, Oct 27: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) always claim to be non-political organisation, but listed in its agenda for its meeting of the "karyakari mandal" (executive board) at Dharwar in Karnataka from October 28 to 30 is also the review of the country's political situation and its coordination with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the upcoming Assembly elections in five states.

The BJP will be represented in the meeting by its organising general secretary B L Santhosh, a nominee of the RSS in the BJP, though there is a possibility of BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda also turning up at one of its sessions. Around 350 delegates are expected to attend, including leaders of all RSS-linked organisations.

The RSS has been holding all such meetings through the online medium due to the onslaught of the Coronavirus, but this will be the first meeting to be held with full physical attendance of all concerned. The RSS holds two national meetings in a year, the first All India Pratinidhi Sabha in March and the second of its executive Mandal between Dussehra and Diwali.

The issues listed for discussion in the Dharwar meeting include atrocities on the Hindu minority in Bangladesh, preparations for a possible third wave of Covid-19, and drawing up programmes for the Amrut Mahotsav Year to mark 75 years of India's Independence.
