Slight fall in Covid menace

NEW DELHI, Mar 30: India on Tuesday reported a slight drop in the Coronavirus cases, deaths and active cases, though six states of Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat continued to report high daily new cases.
New cases registered in the past 24 hours were 56,211, while Maharashtra alone accounted for the highest 31,643 new cases, followed by 2868 in Punjab and 2792 in Karnataka. It's down from 68,020 on the previous day, continuously rising for the past three weeks.
India's total active caseload has reached 5,40,720, which is 4.47% of the total cases in the country. A net incline of 18,912 active cases were recorded in the past 24 hours as against 35,498 on Monday. The daily deaths also dropped from 291 on the previous day to 271, which included 102 in Maharashtra, 50 in Punjab and 14 in Tamil Nadu.
India's cumulative recoveries stand at 1,13,93,021, giving the national recovery rate of 94.19%. The recoveries in the past 24 hours stood at 37,028.
So far, more than 6.11 crore vaccine doses have been administered till 7 AM on Tuesday.
Delhi also reported 992 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, which is nearly 1,000 less than the previous days.
