Army Captain Injured in landmine blast on LoC

SRINAGAR, Nov 18: An army soldier was killed while two others were injured after a snow avalanche hit an army post in north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
An official spokesman said that three soldiers were injured following a snow avalanche in north Kashmir's Tangdhar sector on Wednesday morning.
He added that all the injured soldiers were rushed to Kupwara hospital where one among them succumbed to his injuries.
An army officer also confirmed this incident to CNS and identified the deceased soldier as Nikhil Sharma of 7 RR.
Two other soldiers - Ramesh Chand and Gurvinder Singh - are undergoing treatment. Authorities in Kashmir had issued an avalanche warning in four districts of the Valley on Monday after the higher reaches of the union territory received moderate to heavy snowfall.
The avalanche warning was issued in Kupwara, Bandipora and Baramulla districts of north Kashmir and Ganderbal district in central Kashmir.
