Srinagar, Oct 30: Killing of BJP workers by the unknown gunmen at Y.K Pora area of South Kashmir' s Kulgam district has evoked widespread condemnation by all mainstream political parties by declaring it as gruesome and barbaric act.
Hundreds of people attend nimaz-i-Jinazah of the BJP workers who were killed in militant attack on Thursday evening at Y.K Pora of Kulgam.
All district administration was also present at funeral.
People of area have expressed deep anguish over the killing of the youth.
PM Modi tweeted, "I condemn the killing of 3 of our young Karyakartas. They were bright youngsters doing excellent work in J&K. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief. May their souls rest in peace"
Meanwhile Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah has also denounced the killing in their harshest words by tweeting on social media.
While taking a dig at the central government for it’s “ill thought of policies” said, “Saddened to hear about the killing of three BJP workers in Kulgam. Condolences to their families. At the end of the day, its people of J&K who pay with their lives because of GOI’s ill thought out policies,” she tweeted.
CPI (M) has strongly condemned the killing of BJP workers in Y.K.Pora area of South Kashmir yesterday saying violence in any form is condemnable.
There is no justification to kill any unarmed person. The civilian killings continue unabated in Kashmir and there is a need to put an immediate end to it.
The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee also strongly condemned the killing of three BJP workers by unidentified militants in Kulgam District and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved families.
In a statement, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee described the killing of BJP workers as highly condemnable, mindless and a shameful act and demanded exemplary punishment to killers.
JKPCC also expressed serious concern over the deteriorating security situation in Kashmir and emphasized upon the government to take effective measures to prevent attack on political persons and ensure their safety.
Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari condemned the killing of three BJP workers in Kulgam district.
In a statement, Bukhari said that such violent incidents add to the miseries and sufferings of people and cannot be condoned by any civilized society in the world. “This dastardly attack on political workers can fetch nothing except for bringing more chaos and agony for the people,” he said while urging the government to take serious cognizance of this incident and take all necessary security measures in this regard.
Bukhari said the elements inimical to peace and prosperity in J&K should not be allowed to go scot free and the administration must identify and nab the culprits behind such attacks and book them under stringent laws.
