Hurriyat (G) calls for strike

SRINAGAR, Aug 9: Hurriyat Conference (G) has called for a general strike tomorrow.

A spokesman of the faction said the strike has been called in protest against Kishtwar incident in particular and the tear gas shelling against protestors at Eidgah and disallowing Syed Ali Shah Geelani to offer Eid prayers today.

Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman Hurriyat (M) has expressed sorrow over the communal clashes in Kishtwar and alleged that a conspiracy has been hatched up to cause hatred among members of the two communities, who have been living with brotherhood and harmony since centuries together.
