Army jawan killed, another injured in Rajouri

RAJOURI, June 5: An Army jawan was martyred another injured in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in forward areas of Sher Tikri and Dadal in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district on Thrusday night.
Official sources told that during ceasefire violation an army solidier was killed identified as havildar Mathiazhagan P and another injured, who has been identified as Havaldar MM Karan.
Meanwhile, the injured soldier was shifted to Military Hospital Akhnoor for treatment.
An army officer told that the Indian side retaliated effectively inflicting heavy losses on Pakistan side.
A defence spokesperson said Havaldar Mathiazhagan P died in the shelling on Thursday night and said he belonged to Sreerangai Kadu village in Tamil Nadu's Salem district. "Our troops responded strongly to the enemy fire. In the incident, Hav Mathiazhagan P was critically injured. The soldier was evacuated to Army Hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries," Lt Col Devender Anand, the defence spokesperson, said.
Mathiazhagan P was a brave, highly motivated and a sincere soldier, Anand said. "The nation will always remain indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty," he added. His body will be taken by road from Akhnoor to Jammu and then to Delhi in an aircraft. From the national capital it will be taken to Coimbatore, the official said. Pakistan also violated the ceasefire in the front sector of Poonch district on Thursday night.
