Srinagar police arrests 17 persons for violating orders

SRINAGAR, Apr 6: Srinagar police have arrested 17 persons including a shopkeeper and also seized nine vehicles for defying the restrictions imposed in view of Covid-19.
Police spokesman said in the jurisdiction of Nishat and Harwan, police have arrested three persons including a shopkeeper and seized one vehicle for violating government prohibitory orders. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigation has been initiated.
In the jurisdiction of RM Bagh and Nowgam, police have arrested nine persons and also seized eight vehicles for violating government prohibitory orders issued u/s 144 CrPC by district magistrate Srinagar.
While in the jurisdiction of Khanyar, police have arrested 05 persons for violating government prohibitory orders issued u/s 144 CrPC by district magistrate Srinagar. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Khanyar and further investigation has been initiated.
Srinagar Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by Government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restrictions will be dealt strictly.
