First Corona positive patient returns home after recovery

SRINAGAR, Apr 2: The first Coronavirus positive patient, a woman, in Kashmir has returned home after recovering in a hospital.
After testing negative twice, the 65 year old woman from Khanyar, Srinagar has been declared completely cured and discharged from Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. Allowed to return home; she has however been advised to follow the mandatory quarantine of 14 days and 28 days respectively.
Reports said the woman returned to her home on her discharge from hospital , where she had remained admitted, after testing positive for coronavirus, on her return from ‘Umrah’ in Saudi Arabia on March 16.
Before she was discharged from the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Srinagar, doctors said she tested negative for the virus twice and fit to be discharged.
All her family members and those, who had come in her contact, after her return from ‘Umrah’ have also tested negative.
The recovery of the woman, who sent ripples across the region, for being the first case testing positive from the valley has raised a hope of win over the deadly disease.
Controversy had erupted after the reports came in that the woman had evaded the self declaration about her travel history, at the airport on her return from Saudi Arabia, given to her VIP connections; however this was denied by her son-in-law a senior officer in police; however the officer denied the allegations and went into self quarantine, including other family members, who had come into her contact.
