NPP member among 2 killed at Nadimarg

SRINAGAR, Apr 2: National Panthers Party (NPP) today said one among the two persons killed by unidentified gunmen at Nadimarg in Kulgam district last night was its block president.
Police blamed the militants for the killings.
The gunmen entered into a house at Nadimarg last night and shot dead two civilians Ghulam Hassan Wagay, a retired government employee and Sirajudin Khatana. Both of them died on the spot.
NPP today issued a statement saying 45-year old Sirajudin was it Block President. The party in a statement strongly condemned the killings.
"Sirajudin who was shot dead while he was sitting with his family members. Another person was also shot dead who was sitting with him," said the statement.
Prof. Bhim Singh, chief patron of J&K National Panthers Party while condemning the brutal killing expressed surprise on the failure of the J&K administration and the police to provide adequate security to the political activists particularly in Kashmir. Prof. Bhim Singh urged the president of India to issue adequate direction to the administration in J&K to provide reasonable security cover to the office bearers (at least) of the Panthers Party and to other political activists particularly in the Valley of Kashmir where security cover has been deprived particularly to the Panthers Party.
