Soz criticises withdrawal of Kashmiri news bulletin

SRINAGAR, Apr 1: Former union minister Prof. Saifuddin Soz today criticised
withdrawal of the Kashmiri newws bulletin from its list of morning transmission of news by Prasar Bharti.
“While lodging a complaint with the union minister of information and broadcasting Prakash Javadekar about the bureaucratic attitude of his ministry, I informed the Mmnister that the prasar bharti has withdrawn the Kashmiri news ulletin from its list of morning transmission of news," Soz said in a statement.
In my letter to him, Soz brought to his notice that the general run of Kashmiris have become extremely angry with this move by the ministry and the authorities of Prasar Bharti because it was nearly three decades that Sanskrit bulletin was followed by Kashmiri news bulletin.
"I urged the minister to withdraw the order of withdrawing Kashmiri news bulletin. Meanwhile, I talked to Shashi S. Vempati, Chairman, Prasar Bharti and urged him to restore the Kashmiri Bulletin, immediately," Soz said.
"While replying, he has assured me that he would personally take interest in the restoration of Kashmiri news bulletin in their daily transmission of News Bulletins of the All India Radio," Soz added.
